#sure nate or hardison or sophie would have tried to recover the body #and nate or hardison or sophie would be WRONG. #thats like. one of the first and hardest things you have to get through your head for those types of situations #the fact that parker lived with that mentality that most people have trouble with #and shes learning to identify that as wrong. shes thinking about what the right thing is now. #but she puts it into action at the wrong time. in the wrong place #its the desperation its the overcompensation its the sincere and genuine pursuit of bettering herself #and eliot has to pull her back and say no. our skills have value too#they have their place they have their time #theyre difficult and painful to reconcile but theyre important. they are not inherently wrong #self sacrifice is not inherently right #parker has learned to see that she stands on a rocky shore surrounded by the wreckage of dozens of ships #and eliot is teaching her how to be a lighthouse (via @shinybulbasaur)
#GOD THIS SENDS ME INTO A COMA #parker wants so hard to do better #she is willing to sacrifice herself to do the ‘right’ thing #but eliot knows. they can’t. not this time#and deep down she knows that too. but she resists the truth because she is trying to do something different #she wants to be like hardison. like sophie. like nate. she wants to be the way they are because she’s been learning that there is something #fundamentally different about her than the rest of them and she wants to emulate whatever THAT is because she envies that about the people #she loves. in a way they are her ‘positive’ role models #but eliot knows and she knows that too that they aren’t like that. they are different #and she is ashamed because she’s trying to change. and eliot sees her struggling and in distress and he knows the feeling #but he knows and SHE knows that none of them will be making it out of there if they bring the body #they have to leave him behind and they both know it #and eliot knows she isn’t ready to leave him behind. so he tells her the truth#they do things the others can’t. won’t. and that’s okay #because the team needs that. they all need that to work. to keep everyone safe (via @leverage-ot3)
